About Herbalist Patrizia

Welcome to my corner of the web! I’m a native of Italy, born and raised in a charming Northern Italian village that overlooked the majestic Swiss Alps. My childhood was immersed in the simplicity of life amidst lush green fields, wild herbs, and an abundance of local produce. Growing up surrounded by nature fostered a deep connection to the natural world, sparking my love for all things herbal and an appreciation for the healing power of plants.

In the late 80s, as I navigated the blessings and challenges of parenthood, life led me back to my roots. At the time, I was working on an herb farm, reigniting my passion for herbs. This prompted me to embark on a journey of knowledge at the Southern Cross Herbal School. Under the guidance of experts like Dennis Stewart, Andrew Pengelly, and Robyn Kirby, I earned my Diploma in Medical Herbalism during the 1990s.

Since then, my commitment to herbalism has only deepened. I proudly hold accreditation as a professional member of both the Naturopathic Herbalist Association of Australia and the Australian Traditional Medicine Society. My herbal clinic, established in 1994, has earned a reputation for providing not only quality products but exceptional service. I believe in taking the time to listen to my valued customers, offering herbal information that empowers them to take an active role in their health.

Herbal Medicine

Herbal medicine is the use of plants to overcome disease and maintain health, dating back to the origin of humankind. Every culture has developed a body of herbal knowledge as part of its tradition.

Traditional herbal medicine is the people’s medicine, invested in the health and wellbeing of its community. Traditional herbal medicine uses the whole plant, this does not mean that all parts of the plant are always used, but that the part used – root, bark, leaves, flowers, or seed will be taken completely as nature provided it.

Herbalists, while aware of individual constituents of a plant, find that they work best when these constituents stay together to retain biological complexity. The combined effect of all the parts in a plant helps to keep herbal medicine free from damaging side effects.

What Herbs Can Do For You

Herbs can assist us in staying well, they are foods as well as medicine and have the power to build up general health at the same time as addressing underlying disease states. They are our allies, and it’s good to know which to call upon in our time of need.

Herbs when used appropriately remind the body how to heal and open forgotten pathways. All constituents within the plant are delicately balanced in the whole make-up of the plant, they have a special restorative value to the human body.

The healing power of herbs is best described by the word viriditas. Hildegard used this word to describe the moment the divine heals through a living plant, viriditas encapsulates the divine force of nature. Vis medicatrix naturae.
